About Us
Alex Haley wrote, “In every conceivable manner, the family is link to our past and a bridge to our future.” If you are a graduate of Summit High / Licking Heights, you are part of our alumni family.

The Licking Heights Alumni Association strives to be that bridge between our past and our future. Here are just a few examples of our efforts to preserve the past memories, our rich heritage, and the ‘Hornet’ school spirit.

• Construction of the Victory Bell Tower and the Pathway to Victory Walkway. This structure houses the original Summit High bell. Inscribed brick to construct the tower were offered for sale and the proceeds began our first scholarship fund. Pathway bricks (inscribed with your message) are still available, check the ‘Brick Order’ link for more details.

• Creation, preservation, updating, and maintenance of the Alumni Hall of Fame. This high school hallway is dedicated to the pictures of graduating classes, dating back to 1910. Click on the link for the ‘Hall of Fame’ to see some of the pictures.

• Alumni Display Cases are located in the high school commons area. This is where you can take a trip down memory lane and see some old pictures, memorabilia, and trophies from our past scholars, students, and sports heroes. We change themes and articles several times a year.

• The Alumni Banquets are organized each year so that our alums can come together and renew old friendships, enjoy a great dinner, and have some fun. The banquet is held on the third Saturday in June each year. Click on the link ‘Banquet’ and see some of the pictures from past banquets.

• The Alumni Website was constructed and is maintained as a central source of information for all our alumni. Visit the website often to keep in touch and stay up on current events.

• The Alumni Scholarship Fund was established to fulfill our corporation’s primary goal, our mission, and passion for the future. Thanks to the generous donations of our alumni and the hard work of the Alumni Board, we can proudly award a $1,000 scholarship to a Licking Heights graduate each year. This is only one of the ways we are investing in a future at Licking Heights.

It is my hope and prayer that you will join us in fulfilling our motto, “Preserving the Past for the Promise of the Future”, by becoming a member of the Licking Heights Alumni Association.
