There is a long hallway in the new high school that is referred to as the “Alumni Hall of Fame”. As you walk the hall, you will pass pictures of graduating classes beginning in 1910 to the present. This unique inspiration was created by the Alumni Association. However, the real heroes are Milly Cole Shaffer ’47 and her husband Robert Shaffer ’45. They diligently worked long hours restoring these old pictures and frames that had been abused and placed in storage for so many years. Then, somewhere along the way, the school ceased producing a composite graduating class picture. Dan McDonnell (then President), began the tedious process of scanning senior pictures from the yearbooks. As he produced the pictures, he gave them to Robert and Milly. The Shaffer’s then created a background, mounted the pictures, and handmade many of the frames. Thanks to these Alums, we now have a continuous string of graduating class pictures in the hall. If you ever have the chance, visit the high school and take a walk down the Alumni Hall of Fame. We hope you enjoy the view!
